Aesthetic Grant and Loan Program
Church Extension Fund’s latest grant and loan program is designed to assist congregations enhancing their property, both inside and outside. Help in upgrading facilities that are aesthetically pleasing to members and visitors alike.
Aesthetic Grant and Loan Program Details:
- A reimbursement grant of up to $2,000 per congregation, plus an additional 10% of the amount expended over the initial grant of $2,000. Maximum grant per congregation is $20,000.
- Loans are also available at a special interest rate of 2.5% for a 5-year term, subject to CEF’s usual lending criteria.
- Program runs until December 31, 2017. Multiple grant requests may be made during the course of the program for various projects.

The grant program is not intended to replace routine maintenance items, e.g. roof, siding, brick/stone repair, window or door replacement, etc. It is not intended for new construction or renovation. Rather, the grant program is designed for ‘cosmetic’ facility improvements. Other items not considered include furniture, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, signage or equipment.

For reimbursement, please complete a Grant Application together with copies of receipts or paid invoices proving the expenditures. All requests for reimbursement are at the discretion of CEF for determining eligibility. Program begins October 1, 2016 and ends on December 31, 2017.
Loans are also available for your Aesthetic projects. Submit a letter of request together with copies of estimates or contracts, most recent financial statements, and governing body authorization to borrow.
